The industry face to face: a necessary conversation

There are moments when an industry decides to stop operating on autopilot and starts questioning how it is really functioning. On May 6th in Madrid, one of those moments took place with the first joint meeting between APCP and ADDP, held at Sala Equis under a concept as straightforward as it was necessary: “The Industry Face to Face.”

The objective was no small one. To bring production companies and directors together in the same space. Two absolutely key players within the advertising film ecosystem who, despite working closely and consistently together, do not always find real opportunities to align expectations, review dynamics, or simply speak from direct experience.

At Monday, we took part as sponsors of the event, supporting an initiative that we see as structural for the industry. Not so much because of the event itself, but because of what it represents. When an industry decides to create its own spaces for dialogue, it is taking a clear step towards a more organised, more conscious and, above all, more sustainable evolution over time.

Throughout the day, an unusual context emerged. An environment where the focus was not on representation or discourse, but on conversation. Where real situations, common frictions and ways of working that are part of everyday life could be brought to the table, yet are rarely addressed with the time and willingness required for genuine understanding.

What was most interesting was not so much the specific conclusions, but the dynamic that was created. The opportunity to listen to the other side without intermediaries, to better understand the constraints affecting each profile, and to begin building a more shared language within a sector that, by definition, operates under constant pressure.

In a context where timelines are becoming shorter, budgets are tightening and creative demands continue to grow, relationships between the different players involved become increasingly sensitive. This is precisely where these kinds of gatherings gain value. They allow people to pause, review and readjust before existing habits turn into structural problems.

From our position, working directly with production companies, talent and business structures across the creative sector, we clearly see how initiatives like this end up having a real impact on the way work gets done. They are not isolated spaces; they are turning points that gradually redefine dynamics, improve processes and create more aligned environments.

The industry does not change overnight, but it does change when it decides to talk.
